I had to replace my Irish Setter Rutmasters as they had started leaking. To my dismay, I found out they are discontinued. My son starts telling me about the Agility rubber boots based off a tennis shoe. Supposed to be the most comfortable, lightweight rubber boot ever made. I do a bunch of research and then go try on a pair. Wow! The most comfortable, easy to put on and take off rubber boot I've ever tried. I'm skeptical on durability though. I don't see any way they can last going through sweet briar, sticker bushes, and rough terrain with a neoprene upper and soft, foamy feeling rubber. Tomorrow they get their first test. We'll see.

I wouldn't bet on them being durable...I tear up a regular pair of rubber boots, I haven't worn rubber boots in a couple years now. Hope they work out for you.
 
I'm a few hunts into my first pair of the agilities and I love them. I did get a small tear in the neoprene yesterday moving through a thicket. Nothing that can't be easily patched. But I don't care if I have to buy a new pair every year. For situations that call for knee boots, I can't go back to anything else.
 
I've had great luck with the regular lacrosse rubber boots in years past....first pair I wore till they dry rotted and cracked....but got many years of use from them..... Wearing mucks now and after a couple of years I finally tore a hole in the neoprene....the agilities sound interesting... lightweight and comfortable sounds good... especially while turkey hunting.
 
glad someone finally designed a pair of rubber boots that were more comfortable. I hated wearing them so much I switched to Goretex hiking boots and gaiters a few years back. I may look into these those as an option for farms I actually need rubber boots for.

always hated how heavy and HOT rubber boots got.
 
I have built some Hybrids for walking lots of miles where multiple creek/slough crossings are necessary. Half Lacrosse and Half FroggToggs. Super light but we shall see how they hold up.

I hunted yesterday from daylight til 5pm and covered a bunch of ground (wish I knew how many miles). I was impressed with these boots. As far as other RUBBER boots go, they are lighter, more comfortable, and easier to get on and off. I think they are going to be more durable than I expected. Once the temps get in the upper 70s they get pretty warm, but what rubber boot doesn't? Obviously, if you don't hunt around a bunch of mud and water there are better options out there, but these appear to be superior to other rubbers.
 
Thanks for the report Spurhunter. When around slash water and wet marshy areas, I hunt in LaCrosse Grange 18" knee boots, with aftermarket insole and quality socks. So far, so good. If the birds are not there, or not talking, I typically cover a lot of ground as well. The outsole (bottoms) on my Grange boost are wearing thin from many many miles of use over the last 3-4 years, both turkey hunting and archery hunting.
 
On a side note, I purchased some of the last Irish Setter Rutmasters this past fall from Sportsman's Guide. My buddy raved about them and I told him it looked like they were discontinuing them and he tasked me with finding him a replacement pair. I ordered him a pair, and me a pair as well. He said they are his favorite non-insulated knee boot that he has ever worn. The link below shows the boot I ordered for us. You can see they only offering size 8 as all other sizes have likely been sold. Irish Setter replaced them with the Irish Setter MudTrek, which I have no experience with.

I believe you will like the Rutmasters. Like you, me and my buds wore Grange for decades and loved them. Until they moved manufacturing to China. Since then we can't get 2 years out of a pair. If you are still getting 3 or 4 years you are doing well. The Agility is made in China as well though. Next time you are in Haddad's try on a pair of Agility and see what you think.
