Anyone else going to be out there? I'll be there tomorrow and then Sunday morning before church. Weather isn't looking the best but at least it won't be raining.

Good luck to everyone.

I will be in Todd County. Combines were going full force on the beans, not sure if they got rain or not so we shall see how busy the fields are tomorrow.
Wish we had last years weather for this hunt, that was some great weather.

Nice 9pt got ran out by a coyote, coyote disappeared and the buck made his way back where he came from. Never seen one do that before.
Other than that and a yearling in the moon light thats it, no shots either.

Talk to a farmer and he said one of his hunters killed a nice buck yesterday. Hopefully this evening one of us will get lucky.

One of the worst weekends or hunting I can remember, hot, windy, full moon, and acorns everywhere. I hope this isn't any indication of how the rest of the season is gonna be.

This was why I quit the early MZ season

Did yall receive that survey that KY sent out this year? I didn't but my buddy did and said their was a vote to change the early mz to either forward or back. I would love to see it 2 weekends later than it usually is.

My farm had beans and they were still in, if it was cut corn Im sure it would have been different. But I was hunting a hot white oak with tons of sign but no daylight movement, it even had two fresh scrapes around it.
I did not receive the survey either but the muzzle loader hunt can be great if you have the right weather and food. If it was later or early Im sure more deer (bucks) would be killed, does KY really want that?

It was slow for sure, I saw just over 50 deer in the 2 days this year (last year I saw over 100 deer in the 2 days). Several bucks and couple nice ones, 120" to 130", nothing I wanted to shoot though. Lots of good sign and hopefully gun season will bring a shooter by.

It used to be the last weekend in Oct but the bow hunters complained they wanted some rut hunts to themselves....
I doubt it ever changes back unless the KDFWR think it will draw more out of state hunters.... It's getting ridiculous around here...

Does KY rifle always open the 2nd Sat of November? If not how do they determine?
