Invited a guy and his son to our place in Ky on the Free Juvi hunt this past weekend. He also hunted our place on the early juvi hunt in Oct and although he didn't kill a deer he had a blast. They sat all day and seen over 20 deer but he was holding out for a big one but it never showed.
Fast forward to this Saturday. They were headed to the property and the dad realized they forgot their tote with their jackets in it. So had to turn around and go back and didn't get settled in til about 7. At 8 had 2 good bucks step out. Garrett shot and when he pulled the trigger his dad seen him flinch and pull right real bad. Noticing it was a miss and the other deer was walking towards them he got him on the other buck. Shot and missed again. He was timid of the 270 and flinched both times. He was down and out but hunted the rest of the day and seen a few deer but no shooters.
Sunday after church they headed out and had 4 does come by early. Then at dark had 5 does come out and he decided to kill one because it was the last day. He picked the biggest one out and dropped it. Pics don't do it justice but it's a big ol mature doe. He was still a little down about missing the bucks the day before but he was happy to kill a deer.
