Great fun this morning! This is complicated... stick with me. I donated a trip to the Ronald McDonald House Auction a while back... TNDeer's Kirk bought the trip, making a hefty donation to the Ronald McDonald House. Then Kirk turned around and re-donated the trip he bought to Nimrod777, a youth minister, who recruited Kendrick.

Kendrick hasn't had the opportunity to do much fishing... exactly the person that Kirk hoped might enjoy a trip. He did!

We started out on the early-bite bass (in Chickamauga Tailwaters) with some crank baits. The bass were pretty cooperative. It took Kendrick a little while to get the hang of casting... but in short order he was boating fish like a pro. And Kendrick smiles as good as he catches fish. :grin:

After the early bass bite died down we switched to catfish. First cast Kendrick added a personal best cat to his personal best bass... more smiles! :grin: :grin:

It was just an absolute great morning on the water with a young man who truly enjoyed his time on the water. Hopefully he is hooked.

"Hats Off" to Kirk and Keith for making it happen.

A really great reason why life is good and gettin' better every day!

I donated this trip in honor of my Uncle Bill Young that passed away this summer. He loved to fish with Richard Simms and I knew he would enjoy passing it on to others.

I feel we done your uncle proud, Kirk. All day long I heard phrases from Kendrick like "They won't believe I caught this" and "my dad will be so excited when I bring this home". I told him the fish in the pix would look bigger if he wouldn't smile quite so wide, but he just wouldn't cooperate. You should have seen him on that last ten pound blue on the ultralight!

You're a good egg, Kirk! Wish you could have joined us.
 
Hats off to you as well Rsimms for donating to the Ronald McDonald House. My company donated the phone system to their house in downtown Knoxville, and I have the pleasure of maintaining and working on it when they need me. It is a good service that they offer, surrounded by good people that make it happen.
 
This is a four man deal here. Richard donated the trip to the Ronald McDonald auction, I bought it and gave it to Kieth to use for a kid that needed a new direction, Kieth gave of himself and found the right young man, and Kendrick gave of himself and made it all worthwhile.

Richard, you are the best fishing guide I have ever had the pleasure of sharing a boat with. To be the best you have to possess a lot more skill than just fishing knowledge. You are the total package as person and as a guide.

Keith, you were the first person I thought of when I wanted to
re-donate this trip. I knew in my heart that you were the man that would make this happen. You too are the total package as a person and youth minister.

Kendrick, when I first saw your pictures and the big smile I felt
a glow of pride come over me. Your hooked on fishing now aren't you. You shared a boat with two fine examples of how a man should live his life.

Awesome job by all, and I couldnt agree more with your post Kirk. All of you are great guys and it shows in every word you all type on here.....consistantly, not just here and there.
 
I don't know where I've been and how I missed this, but even a month later, you are still giving us pleasure.
