Went in deep on the west TN public land. There were lots of acorns dropping and I knew I should be good from historical knowledge where we'd seen bucks and does in seasons past.

I made a little mock scrape 15-20 yards away, and put down doe estrus and buck urine. I found a nasty sugar hackberry with a few poison ivy vines wrapped around it and climbed up it. I watched for a bit and didn't see anything. Then I did a few doe bleats and tending buck grunts.

At 7am I look down and saw a wide buck no doubter walking by at 20 yards. I was trying to play it cool and not rush but I went faster than I should have. He tore out stumbling, and I thought he'd go down but never saw him.

A spike came in while I was waiting and hung around till I decided I was ready to climb down.

I walked the direction he ran and 90 yards he was piled up. I made a video with him and gave all the glory and praise to God.

I was lucky to have a friend with me. He brought a sled, then carried my climber and ML back to the truck. It was a long drag out but man, I'm so pumped.
