I have a older knight that doesnt use a 209 i generaly shot 90gr of powder with a 245gr power belt but i cant get a group. Does anyone know of a better combo to shot. I have kill several but have also missed a few. i would hate to miss a big one. and what kind of range is my gun able to shoot im afraid of anything over yds

I personly would thow the knight away an get a TC but everyone hase thier own picks but i shoot 75 grain black powder an a 240 grain hornady sabot it does great at 125 to 175 yrds an if you shoot pellets you might not get the disstance as loose powder like 777

That's not even right.. I don't know whats wrong with a Knight ML. It will kill them just the same as a T/C.

I shoot the same gun as you do, it's a Black Knight shooting #11's. I use 100gr. with a 250gr. hornady.

i have a american knight and i use the shockwave 250 grain with 90 grain of powder and i also use the power belts 195 grain with 80 grain of powder and i get an quartar size group with the powerbelts and with the shockwaves i get the same and sometimes depends which grain i use if i use the shockwave 300 grain bullet i get an inch group with it

I have an American Knight with #11 percussion caps. I shoot 3 30grain pyrodex pellets, the Knight sabots (260 grains) and mine shoots great!

I'm thinking about bedding my MK-85. They are simple to bed the way they fit in the stock. I'm hoping that will help mine.

From what Knight told me a couple years ago on some questions about my dads extreme 45.

Knight-"Ours will not shoot well with power belts" They recoomended the Red Hot's esp the Barnes or Barnes themselves I agree. However my dads did a ok when I tried the Platnium Power Belt in his ,the Plat.PB 45cal .223gr 100gr loose triple 7 3f or 2 pellets both using win triple 7 209's.

I would throw away the Power Belts. I have a Knight Disc Extreme .45 and shoot the Red Hot's by Barnes and can shoot sub 1.25 groups at 100 yards with 100 grains of 777 pellets.

Have added a .50 Encore and hope that it will shoot as well.

try boiling watter, and alot of elbow grease.i still use a knight, but if you dont scrub it out real good it will not group at all.mine has a 209, 100grain, 240 sabot

I have the MK-85 and always got great accurracy with 90 gr FFg Goex and either Hornady 300 gr 45cal XTP or the 45 cal 260 gr Speer. Killed several deer using these bullets.

Too much trouble and not really needed - even with BP or subs.

Thanks though.

2 50 grain pyrodex pellets, power belt 245---i get 2 inche group at 100 yds....groups better with breakaway sabots and 45 bullet.. but power belts are so easy to use....alas(old/lazy)(smarter too)

My knight mk95 shoota 1" groups out to 125 yards with barnes 250 gr sabots and 100 grains of American Pioneer Powder (2 sticks).

Same here Pbmp!  Only I use 90 gr loose pyrodex. Touching bullet holes at 50 yds consistently, without a scope! ;)

American Knight w/#11 caps. My first ML and still my best shooting one...close range anyway out to 100-125 yds, which is all I need in the woods I hunt.

Have you cleaned it with a good solvent to remove the plastic reside?? Had one do that before after a good cleanning the groups tightened up . just a thought.
