Knife sharpening?

A good steal goes a long way. A stone can do things nothing else can.

However, in my world, time is money, and for my time and money the work shops is the simple easiest, and most fail proof tool I have found (thanks to the recommendations of others on this site). I highly recommend it.

I use a diamond sharpener these days a fine one works good if your blade does not have nicks or gouges. I'm sure you will get a lot of different opinions on this but if your knife is only good for 1 deer it might be the steel in the type of blade you are using. I've used several different ones over the years.A good Schrade old timer has always served me well.They are easy to sharpen and keep a good edge for several deer.Some of the more expensive knifes have much harder steel and require more work to sharpen. If you cut thru the rib cage a good serrated knife will save wear and tear on a fine edge.
