So went out and shot a few more rounds today. Used those 150g ELD-X again. Also took my normal 12g Barnes to compare. First shots on both were kinda spread out like it has been so I started to fear the scope was the issue. Let it cool and shot a few more groups. Seems after the first go round it tightened back up where I wanted.

this was the next to last group with a flyer. And you can see the other group lower right both with the hornady rounds

Then the last group really tightened up (did adjust the scope down some)

I have no idea how or why it went haywire then back to decent again. My guess is it got better as the barrel got dirty again and me the shooter wasn't putting pressure or something on the stock when shooting from the sled. Also ended up adjusting right just a tad

Still kinda sounds like a scope problem, like DaveB mentioned earlier.

maybe I have no idea. Ended up shooting about 16 rounds of it and some other ammo. All seemed to group normal. I've had scopes that got loose internally and haven't seen them all the sudden fix themselves but I'm sure it happens.

I've had them jump wildly and not track for adjustment, but shoot a few shots wo adjusting and they settle in, just usually not where I need them to be. :)

Something I've seen and done, are you holding the rifle the same every time. I rarely hold a rifle with more than the trigger hand. Holding a forearm and my group falls to pieces. Just a thought as we're just speculating at this point

that's what I'm thinking. Yesterday I went back to basics and had almost a lazy grip on the gun only at the rear. I am shooting off a sled but not the most solid table. So I'm thinking the other day I was using pressure on the gun to get the crosshairs lined up vs adjusting the sled properly.
Wish ammo was easier to find and I'd go shoot more today lol. Also wish i would have started collecting to to reload years ago as now it's also hard to find and I don't have the $500-$600 to get started in it all
