Kimber Hunter Rifles - 84M Action

Any experience with these Kimber rifles? Was looking at the Hunter model that Bass Pro sells.

My buddy had a couple. They were nice, I guess. He was proud if em. Didn't shoot any better than my Savage.

Do you remember if they shot well? I like savages a lot too, and im spoiled on the accuracy of them. I saw the base kimber hunter model online at Bass Pro for around $799, while randomly browsing. That's about same price as a weather warrior or the new savage storm. Got to looking closer and saw it was significantly lighter than the savage, at 5lb 10oz. If they shot well and were nice, that would be a good option for a lightweight setup.

They did shoot well. Sub MOA. He liked the light weight because he was hunting out west. He is kinda a brand fluffy kittens, was too good for a lowly Savage. Didn't like it much when I out shot him. The Kimber rifles are nice.

The Kimber 84 series are excellent rifles, especially if you're looking for a lightweight backpack style rifle. I have several, however I will always recommend the Montana version over the Hunter rifle as the additional cost for the upgraded stock is well worth it.

There's more to a rifle (in my opinion) than just shooting sub-MOA and the Kimber rifles check many of those boxes.

whatever you do stay away from the little "mountain rifles" there were tons of bad reviews on them. The size and weight had my interest, but after reading some reviews about terrible accuracy, I went back to my sub MOA Tikka.

Dam straight. I owned my fair share of accurate shooting Savages. Great rifles for the price, but they are bulky and ugly as sin.

If you do a google search you'll find people having bad experience with feeding issues with the hunter also. I have heard Kimber is redesigning the magazine to correct this problem. And if you spend much time on other forums several people have accuracy issues .
Kimber does make some beautiful wood stock rifles and have always wanted one just never pulled the trigger.

I was curious about them more than anything, and I also found similar reviews as you mentioned. Some said great things, and others seemed dissatisfied.

That's not the truth anymore. They've improved. That said, I'd get a montana.
