Kimber 380 for carry

Right now I'm carrying a Smith and Wesson 380 body guard, it is a great gun but been wanting a Kimber 380. Does anyone carry one of these and if so what do you think? I have it's big brother the Kimber 45 and love it. I think I'm going to the Gun show in Jackson and look at some prices they might have.

Unlike a lot of things ....... with a 1911 style pistol you either love it or hate it. If you are comfortable with the full size pistol the 380 should be fine. Lots of people enjoy shooting them, but carrying them "cocked and locked" makes them nervous. If that doesn't bother you, I'd say go for it. Kimber makes a very high quality firearm and I wouldn't hesitate to use one for defense. I currently carry a 380 most of the time and I have come to the decision that it is an adequate cartridge.

My wife carries a Micro Carry 380. Out of the box it would not run well. The slide would not go into battery 98% of the time while shooting. It required a tap of the thumb to make it slide all the way forward. I tried different ammo, cleaning, and finally had to send it back to Kimber. When I got it back I put a lot of ammo thru it to make sure it was reliable enough for every day carry. It's eaten everything I've put in it without any more hiccups. I bought a pro carry 45 at the same time and had to tweak the extractor a bit to keep spent cases from flying straight back into my forehead. I'm not knocking Kimber at all. I love ours, but I'm just giving my experience.

I bought a Kimber Micro 380 because I thought it would be good to carry in my pocket. Have run a few hundred rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. Only problem it is too nice to carry IMO. I would hate to scratch it. BTW, bought it brand new at Smoky Mountain Knife Works for $450.
