I shot a good buck this evening straight on facing me.he ran down the hill and stood behind some trees for a few minutes and then started falling.by the time I got down and carried my equipment to my atv it had gotten dark.I looked and found blood and backed out.if I find him in the morning would I check him in with tomorrows date or today.I don't know whether to hunt first then go search or just get up and go search

Why not go back in a couple hours?

Don't hold me to it but you killed it today so i would say put today's date online gives you that option

I shot a deer with a muzzy a long time ago and fond it the next day, the first day of gun and the GW told the girl that checked it in to use my muzzy lic because it was the day of kill not when I checked it in. But that was about 10 years ago.

I'd say you check it in on the day you shot it. Otherwise how would you legally check in a deer shot at last legal light on the last day of season if you didn't find it until the next morning?

Hopefully did find it.

Hopefully you found him.

I would check it in the day I shot it. It does give you the option, I have done it before, where I backed out and went back the next day, and no one showed up knocking on my door.

This is what I've been told by game wardens and TWRA. I asked to have the knowledge on what to do if it happens to me.
