Kids and crossbows.

My son is now asking for a crossbow. He is 9 and understands a bow would be too hard for him to hunt with now.. I am torn on this.. I certainly didn't grow up using a crossbow but also would be a way to get him in the woods with me during bow season and get it done. I just don't want to give him the easy way out and think the struggle might be a good lesson for him... Work your way up I suppose.. Thoughts?

Anything that gets them in the woods gets my vote. I hunt with a crossbow myself. It has its own challenges.

U will be there to help. I'm for making it easy on them to start. Gradually letting them do more as they grow. Get a Xbow .

I agree. My son killed his first 2 with a crossbow because I was afraid he couldn't handle recoil. He practiced daily with me. Just a few shots.

Now the kid can out shoot me. I recently got him a bow. We are gonna be practicing a lot. He's 10 now for what ifs worth
