Just curious as to how many have called in birds, shot a gobbler, and then had the other gobblers jump on him. I've had it happen several times. At the shot the birds would immediately lift off the ground to fly away and see the boss bird flopping and then return to pounce on him. It always amazes me. As slick as they are at detecting the slightest sound or movement and then fleeing... for them to turn right around and jump right into the middle of everything. I love to see it.
 
Saw it this morning. Two jakes jumped on the one my brother-in-law shot.

I have never had it happen either.. They always take flight after I shoot.. But I have seen many times when I get on the other bird another time when I make one call to him he takes off like a gray hound at the derby.. Had it happen twice this week..
 
Have had it happen several times especially if you shoot the strutter.

It was fixing to happen Saturday so my buddy could get a shot. The other 2 toms were gobbling and fixing head back and the landowner walked out in the middle of the field to my flopping bird lol
