I predict 2 deer over 200" die this weekend in the Bluegrass State. These cool temps will have them hitting the corn early[emoji14]
Me, I'm itching to go but I'm holding off. Standing corn really messes me up on my place.

Corns hitting the ground on many farms around Mr right now.
Good luck to the hunters. Farmers are cutting corn in Carroll and Henry counties as well.

Day 1 is in the books. Slow morning but a first for me. 1st kill with a crossbow. A Wiley coyote. One less villain.
Afternoon was much better. 2 bucks, out of velvet, 5 or 6 does.. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Product review. Duluth dry on the fly pants? A great product. Light weight and dry quickly after a walk through wet early morning beans

Pretty slow weekend. I only saw one buck, but I was able to get a head start on filling the freezer. First day carrying my new bow.

Spent the last 3 days up there. That cool snap was nice and made the sits fun. The deer moved okay but since all but one of our big boys is hard horned(he was shedding last night on cam), they seemed to be a bit nocturnal. I had a good one come in to the feeder as I was getting down Saturday, but had to get my buddy to bump him out with the buggy so I could get out. Same thing happened to my buddy with our #1 shooter. He had him at 20 yards but couldnt get a shot through the foliage and it got too dark. Highs in the low 80s lows in the 50s felt good, got all the food plots planted, my Titans slapped the browns around, and we ate good food all weekend. Only 2 chigger bites on my hand; I'll call that a success!
All of the corn around us is still standing and has a little green left, but on the way home I noticed they were combining near the TN line. If it stays dry, it wont be long.

When I mentioned corn I was referring to the bait piles[emoji14]. I was predicting the deer would hit them a bit earlier with the cool temps.
I don't hunt my KY farm when actual row crop corn is standing simply because how I have to access it and the pinch point I hunt. I would blow all the deer out, assuming they were bedded near my stand. I would either have to walk literally a mile through corn or hug the fence line....either way it puts me at very low odds.
The farm is probably 150+ acres with maybe 5 huntable acres.
