Food Plots Keeping deer out until the time is right

Not sure if this has been covered on here or not, I'm new. I planted a food plot (beans, brassica, clover) and the deer tore it up before it could mature. I was thinking about buying some fencing and ran across PlotProtector from BioLogic. I thought it might just be another gimmick but decided to give it a shot. I replanted, ran the ribbon on posts about 30 inches high and sprayed it down with the solution that comes in the kit. No more deer. I only roped off the beans and left clover, brassica and some winter oats outside the rope. I figured this would keep them coming in but keep them out of the beans. It worked. I watched a group of 5 doe eating the winter oat and walking towards the beans. One doe walked up to the ribbon, sniffed it and walked backwards away from it. Anyone else had experience with this?

Boy I wish I would have known about it!! I planted my first plot this year and it was doing great until the deer got a hold of it!! Man I was tore up!! But anyway I put more seed out and it's starting to take off again!!

I've also heard of good results from simply running flagging tape around a plot with no chemicals on the tape. But I suspect that would only work on deer who have plenty of other food sources.

I have a client that goes to the expense/trouble of running a single-strand (about 30 inches high) solar-powered electric wire around his plots. He leaves them up until his soybeans are about knee high. Makes a huge difference.

I ran a two strand on the inside and a 1 strand on the outside last year and all deer stayed out.This setup creates an optical illusion to deer and although they can easily jump over they don't.Full instructions on the QDMA discussion "electric fence options".I ran this around a couple acres of beans and it was very effective on a year when only tobacco was raised on my place otherwise.

It makes all the difference in the world. Here are two pictures from a thread I had in here a while back. Both plots planted with beans on the same day. One plot left unprotected, the other had a 3 strand solar powered electric fence around it.

Tried the Plot Saver this year on my garden. It worked great for about 2 months. Once the deer got use to it, it didn't slow them down a bit, no matter how often I applied the chemical.
