Anyone interested? I need a 5th teammate so PM me if you want in. We need someone who is going to do a lot of fishing, not once every couple months. We try to get out 3-4 times a month. Basically it's a massive online kayak fishing tournament from Feb 1st to some time in December. Every species of fish in salt or fresh water is eligible for points but there is a limit of how many of each species you can submit per month.

For example, with Largemouth Bass you can submit up to 50 a month. Bass only over 16" will get points, 10 points, while any bass over 24" will get an extra 20 points. From Bluegill to Marlin, anything counts for points so fish for anything and have fun with this. You just submit pics of the fish on a measuring device.

Your whole team's points are combined and competing against other teams in the region. I'm excited about this and hope to get the final teammate soon since the fishing starts Feb 1st!
 
It's a lot of fun. It's really a challenge against yourself. You see how many different species you can catch. So far since I've been doing this I have 24 species that includes stuff like Dorado, Spade Fish, and other species I probably wouldn't have targeted. In march we are going to try to get some Peacock Bass, Snakehead, and Snook.

Aside from the incredible flats fishing for Redfish and Snook, Peacock Bass are one of the main things I miss most about living in south Florida. Those fish are super aggressive and put up a much better fight than a Largemouth, similar to a Smallmouth vs Largemouth. I used to walk along the banks of canals and spot them from a distance, burn a rapala jerkbait past them and they can't help but crush it.

I'm excited about the Peacocks also. Sarah went down there about 5 years ago and fished the canals in Miami and caught a few Peacocks. Nothing big but a couple in the 14-15" range. She said paddling the Miami canals was an experience.

The day of our fishing trip was the coldest day we were there,spent the morning trying to land tarpon(hung a few but them buggers can fight)caught one barracuda and then after lunch we went after snook after that.caught a ton of them they were small biggest ones probably 2 or 3 lbs.but they were fun it was in January we fished isla Blanca outside of cancun.
We been doing fine.hopefully things will work out where we can come to some of the tournaments this year,don't stand a chance of winning,but still be fun
 
Sounds like a great trip regardless of the fishing. I usually don't stand a chance of winning at our tournaments either, but I have fun. One of our tournaments this year is a river tournament on the Cumberland with check-in at our house with a cookout.
