Have any of yall ever hunted Kansas? Got drawn for units 7/8 looking for an adventure more so than to fill a tag. Like new and different places .

I have about 10 yrs ago but up near the Nebraska line. I killed a 135" 11 pt on my second day of hunting the first year. The weather was really hot and windy the second year. I had a big 7pt at 52 yds but the wond was blowing too hard to make the shot.
It's lots more logical there, look at cover, terrain and food. Don't think you have to be in a tree to kill one.

Rifle hunted zone 4&5 for a few years. It doesn't take alot of cover to hold deer once the crops come out. The wind blows all the time.
The meat from those deer is way better eaten than any TN deer I've ever had.

Im headed to Kansas in December this will be my 4th time to hunt Kansas, I've hunted either unit 7 or 8 every trip, I've saw a lot of deer and some great bucks in those units, I haven't killed anything yet, but I have been super selective and passed on many bucks.

What is the ground like? Flat , draws, cedar thickets prairie? I'm bowhunting and anything mature don't have to score high I'm a fan of old nasty bucks
