My 14 year old son shot 2 bucks this season. 1st one on the juvenile hunt and the 2nd on the weekend after thanksgiving. He hasn't hunted much since. He wants to go on the juvenile hunt tomorrow morning. My question is this.
If a decent buck steps out can he legally harvest it? It's technically 2026, he tagged out in 2025. Right or Wrong?
I'm honestly a little stumped on the 25/26 season vs. his limit being filled in 2025 and it being a new year so it's a new limit?
I've about got him convinced it's a doe only hunt, and he's good with it but, I'd hate for a giant to step out and him not be able to harvest it if he chooses too.
Any advice would be appreciated.

For general statewide 2 bucks, the info above is correct, he is out of buck tags for this 2025/2026 deer season. What county/unit? Over here where I hunt in Unit 1 (CWD Management Zone), there are multiple ways to earn more buck tags each season if a hunter is interested and willing to pursue them. I submitted a doe for CWD testing and earned an extra buck tag so I had three buck tags, but never used the first one this season. Food for thought.
