Thought about this several times and was just curious.
When you are going around a corner and you are close to the center line, if your rear tire gets on the line, will the paint cause your tire to lose grip and slide sideways?

I figure there is no way it CAN'T slip but I dunno.

Don't really want to try it out either. :D

Just one of those things I think about.
 
Rain will make the paint slick, however the tire breaking loose because of the centerline paint is not the major problem; the oncoming car that's riding the centerline (the line you're leaning over) is the problem.

On blind corners I stay in the center of my lane.
On corners I can see a long way I get closer though.
 
No I haven't taken the course but honestly I was just wondering is all.
I don't get over into the other lane except when I can see quite a long ways.
Remember, it is pretty flat around here.

Yes you are right, a light drizzle when it very first starts is the worst from a traction standpoint.
I learned that when I got my learners permit.
 
Yeah I have been wanting to anyway but haven't had the time yet.
I probably will this fall some time.

If your tires get old then they will get hard. You may have a lot of tread left, but when they get hard, they will slide off the paint. After they get hard it is best to go ahead and get new tires. New tires are cheaper then new skin and fixing your bike. Ride Safe.

I second or third or thirty third on taking the Safety Course!! It is one of the best things you will ever do for yourself.. I have rode a tad over 40+ years now and took it for the first time about 20 years ago.. and now take it every five years or so.. Here in Pa. if you keep updating it you receive 30% off your insurance.. so to me it is worth it.. also have taken the advanced rider course a couple times.. That in it's self is a excellent course also and highly recommend it!!
 
I took the safety course 2 years ago. Then bought my scooter back in July of last year. Well worth the money. You learn stuff and safe on insurance.
 
You have to pay to take the safety course?? Here in Pa. it cost nothing to take it but everyone who has a Motorcycle License pays a extra 5 dollars a year to go towards it..They supply the bikes and everything.. that was the one thing i didn't like.. made me take the course on a Honda Rebel 250.. and i normally ride a Wide Glide with a 120 C.I. Now that was just plain funny...
