Went out yesterday and spent 90% of my efforts ensuring a 13 year old, wiggly worm would get a shot at a deer.

Later in the day and quite tired, I wondered 150 yards over and around the bend and just plopped down in my turkey hunting chair. No blind, orange cap and vest. Listened to the birds and relaxed. Then a doe walked up. I stalked around for a clear shot at 25 yards.

I'm thinking that the key is scent control and being super still. My new climbing stand is unopened and still in the box. It may or may not come out this season. I kind of like those comfy chairs.

Ground hunting out of a comfortable chair is underrated. I have a couple super comfortable chairs that just strap onto a tree. I keep one in my truck all season long. It's so comfortable I have more trouble not falling asleep than any trouble moving.
I like my ladder stands and hang ons, but the ground is so much safer, easier, more comfortable. I have had so many deer inside 5-15 yards that never know I'm there. Including a giant I killed this year with a bow at 15 yards sitting in that very chair.

Brush around your tree, get comfortable, and let the magic happen. Plus it's a little more exciting when you're eye to eye haha
