Got back earlier today from 2-1/2 days of fishing and story telling. Not a lot of fishing. I kept only the bass between .75 and 1.25 pounds. Had over a dozen vac. bags of fillets. Have no idea how many we caught.

Fished about 90 minutes in the morning and about that at dusk. They were hitting the Rippit frog like crazy. For every one we got in the boat, two threw it. What a blast! Most would weigh about two pounds, had a couple good ones. Spent a lot of time just sitting on the big porch and visiting. Alos are like a starving Armenian and took several naps.

What a relaxing trip! Next trip, FL for snook.

Were you fishing down at White Oak?

Yes but mostly we were sitting on the porch, drinking grapefruit juice and watching the hummingbirds. Fished about 90-minutes every morning and evening.

Kirk- You should see the former swamp behind the lodge. All the pines are gone and there are huge food plots surround by hardwoods and 100-yard hardwood strips crisscrossing them. We started just behind the shooting range. The wildlife habitat on the remaining 1200 acres is unbelievable.

The project for this fall is lake restoration. They start putting the herbicide on this week. We have to take out a few more bass, then the feeders go back in and a few hybrid bream will be stocked.

It will be my luck (and theirs) just when it gets perfect again, they will sell it. I wish I had $7-mil. Talk about a paradise.

We caught about 50 like this one, just a touch too big to fillet.

This is Robert, fishing for the first time in 33-years. It is just sunup and wer have probably caught 20-bass already.
