to camp after a 14 hr drive. Got my tent set up and fixing to hit the sack cause I've got a LONG day ahead of me tomorrow by scouting for some birds.
Man its hot down here too. 78 degrees still and it's almost 10 pm here.
Hopefully I finish 2 slams before I head home.

Was in Florida two weeks ago. Saw a flock of turkeys along I-10 while in the Oceola National Forrest. I think they were Eastern rather than Oceolas. Didn't get too good of a look since I was driving.

Watch out for the snakes, gators and mosquitos and keep an ear open for those Osceolas.

Been meaning to get on here and post up the conclusion of my hunt and pics but just haven't got to it yet.
Short story is I came home empty handed. I played the game and took my safety off twice but did not finish the deal.
I have a all new respect for the WMA I hunted and any person who is able to go in there and walk out with and bird every yr.

Hunted the cypress the first 4 days of the season. Camped at Monument . Hunted the Skillet. Red crew cab 4×4 HD

Sweet! Several of the locals told me the bear had more birds than where I was but I had already paid for 5 days of camping at Monument. I had a Longbeard come in Monday about 10:45 on my left side. I turned and faced the wrong way due to being deaf in my left ear. Curse I've had since 05. He came in range and there was nothing I could do. Day before that I called in 4 hens. No gobbler with them. I need to pick your and glades brain on how yall hunt that place. It is like a whole nother world down there.

I've spent probably 3 hrs in front of the computer today planning for next yr. I'm not taking the easy way out with private ground if I can keep from it.

Hard to tell in this pic but this was Friday morning right after daylight the day before the opener. I was charges by a 7-8 ft gator and I started thinking what the heck did I get myself into. He got within 15 ft of me before I could tell what he was. He was snapping his jaws and grunting. I really almost peed my pants.





Panther track I found that same morning. Found 4 sets over a 5 day period.
