Congrats! those things have went up since 2000 or 2001 when I got mine. I got a stainless ML-II, a pound of powder, primers, and a box of XTP's out the door for 467 and some change! Regardless yours is money well spent!

I had a Nikon Monarch on mine, I took it off and put a VX-III 3.5-10x40 on it. There is a world of difference in the two.

Yes, they have really gone up in price! The average price on the net for what I bought was $650-700, so when I saw $569 otd I jumped on it! Hillbilly, what load do you like best for your savage? What base and rings are the toughest for the savage?

I am using 44 grains of AA5744, with a 240 grain Hornady XTP.

I have Leupold rings and bases on mine with no problems.
