Could the weather be cold like its SUPPOSE to be!!!! The best time of year comes and it's going to be in the mid 60's the rest of November!!!! This has happened several years in a row now!!! The one thing I can't stand is it being warm in November!!!

COME ON SERIOUSLY???

Sorry rant over had to get that out....

I remember one opening week sometime in the 1980's when it was near 80 degrees for the high and the lows in the 50's. We were in t-shirts in camp. We still killed some good bucks though. The worst thing was the yellow jackets, especially when you were trying to skin a deer in the middle of the day. Ever been stung on the knuckle before? Ain't too fun!

I think there maybe a record kill for opening weekend this year. Keep in mind, temps are in the normal range, not above normal and it is sure cold enough at night.

Personally, I think it is great.

I agree bowriter. I think we have had some of the best deer hunting weather for an extended time, that we have had in years. I guess the only exception would be the cold crisp mornings right after bad weather. In my opinion, those are the best days.

It is discouraging but you still have to go everyday you can cuz you never know what you'll see. Be positive cuz you never know what's gonna walk by

I'm definetely going every chance I get regardless of the temp. Im Coming off an 8 day deer hunting binge but i'll be off again starting Wednesday so I was hoping for some colder weather than the 60's.... We've seen a fourth of the deer these last couple days and its just getting warmer.

Were going to be about average for this time of year maybe 2 or 3 degrees above. But I agree I would like a cold snap

so i was bored at work today and looked this info up because this thread kept making me think about the afternoon high temps. well after further research I found the above statement is true but not true.

the average low for TN in Nov is around 40 degrees (according to the national weather service). We have had more days in the 30's than 40's. In fact 14 our of 19 days in Nov we had lows below 40 and 5 of those days we had lows below 30 (in Murfreesboro). That is why I said the statement is not entirely true. I feel the mornings have been better than average and I've seen deer every time in the woods in the morning.

The average high for November is around 60-62 degrees. We've had 8 days higher than that, but 10 in that range or lower than that.

Now before you holler global warming. The Mean avg temp for November which takes highs and lows into account is between 40.9/1976 and 56.9/1985. The 5 hottest Nov. on avg were in order

1. 1985 - 56.9
2. 1973 - 54.7
3. 1994 - 54.5
4. 1990 - 54.3
5. 2001 - 54.3

2011 was 52, I'd bet 2012 will be below that.

I couldn't agree more. Many hunters are commenting on how this has been one of the best MZ and gun openers in years, and I think it is due to the exceptional weather we've experienced. Other than opening day of MZ, and the second weekend of MZ, this is the best extended weather we've had through MZ and into the first week of gun season in at least a decade. And the hunting has been fantastic in response.
