east tenn has a lot of mining runoff which produces mercury, chromiium, arsenic, etc. there has been some pollution runoff from the town i live in west tenn from the gravel pits and industrial waste sites.

I wonder if stores selling these same fish caught by commercial fisherman are required to post the warning?
Or is this just a scam to pressure people to "catch and release"?
