My business partner is borrowing my Kaw Mule for a New Mexico elk hunt,
local dealer said because of altitude to take it to dealership when he gets there and have them install a high altitude jet kit. Two ?s

1: is this a big deal

2: when it gets back will it need to be uninstalled or will it run at lower altitude or just flood out.

He is paying for kit and to get installed/uninstalled and giving me the kit for future use , just wandering if its a big deal and will have to be uninstalled.

Thx

Not a big deal at all, just replacing the jet in the carb to a smaller jet. If you don't switch it back when you get back east, it'll run too lean for our higher oxygen content at low elevation.

This was a big factor in my latest 4 wheeler choice... since I usually hunt out west at high altitude (sometimes 12,000 ft), I opted for a 4 wheeler with EFI- no need to rejet. I do change my tires out to the maxxis bighorns for the trips out west... they work incredibly well on rocks/roots (suck in the mud), then change the tires back to the mud-type tires when I return.
