If you are taking your boat out for the first time in 3 months or so, check the batteries.. just because it's been plugged in doesn't mean your trolling motor will work when you've driven a hour and a half to go crappie fishing. It's also hard to motor up to the brush pile, drop a 1/8oz jig 25-30 ft and catch a fish before you drift off of it in 10 mph wind….

No wooden paddle. Jumped one battery to my cranking and was able to be functional. Wasn't strong enough to keep up. But able to slow it down. Wasn't the leisurely day I had planned

that sucks, frustrating way to spend the day. live and learn!

had that happen back in Sept with my buddy on his boat. His 20hp motor is a pull start, so we just switched his trolling battery for his accessory battery hooked up to the motor and we salvaged the day.
