Only eat minners. Had a couple great his last week. Caught at least 6 Tarp crappie, most 14" and up. Only issue was they will not touch anything but a live minnow. Luckily we had some minners. Also caught my first flathead. On 2 and 4 lb test, these fish are fun. Let all the huge crappie go. Also released the flathead although people seem to thing they sre excellent table fare. Found some 10-12" for the skillet. Never been a live bait and slip bobber man but i am at the moment.

That's how many of us started out fishing, albeit maybe with just a "cork" and a pole.
Something magically about seeing that cork get pulled under and start moving away under the surface.

Thill makes a tiny cork called the 'mini shy bite'. Its great for micro jigs and small minnows. The crappie hardly feel any resistance of the cork after the strike.
I dont know if it would work in the clearer waters in Normandy, but most of my crappie fishing with minnows was done with a 'KY Lake bottom bouncing rig' on Ross Barnett. It was deadly on the ledges.

No doubt and i have learned a lot about how to set up slip bobber rigs. We use 4 lb main line with an 1/8 oz bullet weight. Sputh of the barrel swivel is a 15" leaser of 2lb line. So if i get hung on a brush pile, i only lose the leader and

Tims is usually the lake we fish in the summer. The boat traffic on normandy is unbearable in the summer, especially in the weekends. Normandy is my fall spot

I live on Tims and used to crappie fish it a lot years ago. Mainly fished during the summer on deep structure. Started back into it recently when we got our new boat, and I just can't seem to find them yet. I'll keep looking.
Plan on being on the water by 5:15 am on Wednesday. Plan to be off the water by 9:30
They are usualy deep. Been finding them in brush on back of coves in turkey creek area. They are stacked on certain docks but dock shooting is easier when the fish are hungrier in the fall
