Well after a long and well thought out process.......I have joined the smokeless ranks! Proud owner of a Brand new Savage MLII. Can't wait to get it set up and take it to the range. Looking for the scope that is going on it. Give me some suggestions! N110 powder? Now looking for the right bullet and primer! Let me hear your thoughts.
 
Nikon xr .going to shoot xtp either 240 or 300 depnds what shoots the best.if both are close i will pick the 240.fed 209 primers is what i read is best
 
I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 in a steel, one piece base/rings. My gun likes the Hornady 300gr 4500 bullet and 5744 well enough, but I haven't done a whole lot of experimenting.
 
Whichever scope you choose, make sure it has a lifetime warranty and put it in good rings. I'm running a Minox 3-9x50 in a DNZ mount.

I would first find out what powders are available and then let us know. I always recommend shooting a book load first just to have a starting point and N110 is excellent. I am not crazy about 5744 but it and a 250gr XTP has shot 1.5" or better in everything I have shot it in.

300gr Barnes Original in a Black Crush Rib sabot and either RL7 or 4759 to get it moving lit by a CCI209M.

As for a scope I would recommend 3-9 or 3-12x42 or so should do it. Save the higher power for the bench shooting. And definitely add high quality rings.

Great advice....Get steel rings don't cheap on rings & bases
