My Ohio property is in Johnny Appleseed country and like many of the old pioneer farms in the area it purportedly had an orchard planted by the man himself. I still have three remaining trees in the old orchard. When I was a young boy there were probably a dozen. This past week I gathered many apples and saved the seeds in ziplock bags to stratify in the fridge. I've done this successfully with other apples but never tried these ones until now. Hopefully they give me some trees! Took a lot of fruit because each apple only gives a couple seeds, unlike modern apples that give about 6 or more. Of course the flesh made some apple butter
