I've never tried to age one before, so I'm going to try and start learning. I killed this deer thinking he had to be 3.5. I looked back at a trail cam pic of him from early bow season and it made me think 2.5. Teeth also made me think 2.5. I'm really hoping I'm wrong and he is indeed 3.5, but let's hear it, what is he?

On my farms, there would be just enough wear to say he is 3.5 if I had pics of the deer last year and was confident he was 2.5 a year ago.

He has more wear than the 150 lb 2.5 year old I killed recently, almost enough I was gonna say 3.5 but wasn't sure.

^^^^^ this is why I leaned toward 2.5 . I would feel comfortable myself calling it 3.5 but feel better about saying 2.5 or older lol . Especially with no trail camera pictures to go off of .

I'm working on getting a picture of him just before I shot him posted. His body was quite a bit bigger than any 2.5 I've ever seen in my area, and his face looked nothing like most 2.5 year old deer to me.
