I was on the Cumberland on Sunday and the fishing sucked. There should be some rainbows in the harpeth by lewisburg pike since they stocked on Friday.

I spent the wknd on Lay lake in AL and most creeks were frozen over and the channel was dirty and 39-40 deg. Locals told me it was the coldest they had saw the water there in 30 yrs. Fishing was tough, especially for LM, Spots weren't locked down as bad but still very slow! I hope after this front the South sees some warmer weeks coming up!

Do the stocked trout taste as bad as the stocked channel cats in the family fishing lakes?

I take my kids to Williamsport to catch catfish, but I put every single one of them back. Pickwick, on the other hand, every cat under ten pounds goes in a cooler.

I don't think they taste near as good as one from the Caney that has been living in there a while and eating a natural diet but they're not terrible. I've eaten them in the past and would again.

When all else fails, fish the mouth of stones river.It's never let me down for skipjack.

I think they are really good. Thats just my opinion though.
