Yeah, three straight days of shooting. If I'm gonna try to participate I've got to get a little extra brass prepped. I don't want to have to come home after a long day there and have to reload ammo then for want of enough cases. Sounds like it's gonna be 8 targets of 5 shots apiece for each class so I'll need well over 100 rounds prepared including sighters. Better get busy Tim. If I don't shoot I'll help with the shoot. We'll see where my head's at that time.

Whelen Man, see what you can find out from Greg, or one of the upper management, about the need or want of concrete benches. The Nationals are on the way, so is there anything in the plans to improve the furniture? Will the line have a covering or the same awnings?
I was told or maybe heard, things will get a facelift pryor to this match. Dig around and see what gives.

Tim, I saw your post over on the Benchrest forum. I asked about the furniture the first time I went there. I was told that they would keep using the same type portable benches because the range is used for both NRA sanctioned shoots and benchrest at both 600 and 1000 yards. Permanently installed benches would interfere with prone shooting positions is what I was told. Those shoots make up the predominant usage of the range so I guess the majority rules. That's my take on it. I sent an email to the Larry Sparks last night offering my help with the shoot but haven't heard anything back yet. It sounds like he and Dave Tooley are going to be the head honchos for this shoot. I'm sure Greg Seigmund will be right in the mix though as I assumed he'd be one of the ones running the shoots there this year. I'll let you know more when I hear something.

As far as the covers, I'll have a table and EZup awning with me at the shoot if I shoot. I doubt they'll use them over the shooting positions unless there's intense heat or a chance of showers though. What I've seen so far is that people use what they bring. One problem there is that in the early A.M. you're shooting pretty much at an angle into the sun and you sometimes need a barrier to help shade your scope. They allow it during the club shoots but I don't know about the nationals.
