When I have an evening off work (2 jobs mostly mornings and evenings) usually the weather is bad, often just after a cold front, and fish don't bite much. When I'm at work all day, my buddy who fishes all the time is texting me about all the fish he's catching.
Today, I got off work at 230 pm and it was textbook perfect - overcast, warm, right before a front moves in. I took the boat below old hickory dam for the last couple hours of the day. I jigged curl tail grubs and trolled a rapala DHJ-12 and didn't have so much as a bite. Was hoping for sauger but anything really. 3 generators no spilling. Not much fish activity at all. Even the seagulls were trying to steal the fish from one of the lucky birds that caught one. Can't complain really, because I had no troubles with the boat or anything, and watched a bunch of turkeys roost on either side of the river. It was an enjoyable evening. Anybody else fish and any luck?
