Sat in the stand today in a short sleeve under armour shirt and pants with the legs rolled up. 72 degrees when I left the truck. Watched 3 does feed in my wheat for over an hour before dark.

I personally beleive the 2nd rut is going to be great. If it will get cold between christmas and new years, its gonna be on like donkey kong! Only saw 1 good day of chasing so far this year. Last year, saw the best chasing and cruising hands down after christmas. Hopeful for this again!

I saw two different doe today that were a lone, and I been finding freash and new scrape and rubs. Should be any day

Saw a fresh scrape today also saw a small doe all by herself. I am thinking it will e close to next week though IF we see a 2nd rut.

Next weekend the weather is predicting a cold snap......letting does walk right now in hopes some come into estrous and a buck is behind them

Next week the second round should be starting up. Don't think its here yet saw some doe running together not by themselves.

The does that didn't get bred are coming in now , the nine I shot had plenty of company . IMO don't shoot the first doe you see pay close attention to her , she could be leading the next record to you . Some say shooting her and let ing ge lie is better but I wouldn't bank on it .

When those early fawns from this spring come in the bucks will be chasing them like crazy. Last year I saw 4 bucks after one young doe in early January.

Don't know how many does I've killed in TN since I started pulling jawbones.... maybe 100 between me and my friends... but out of all those, only 2 were 1.5 y/o's that were wet.

I just don't believe doe fawns come into estrous their first year on my farms in TN.

Now the 2nd rut is often good... but not because of fawns... just because of the does that didn't get bred during first rut. but there are very, very few shooter bucks that are still alive by 2nd rut on my farms.
