I recently got a chronograph. I asked y'all for tips and the one thing that stuck in my mind was someone said if you use it you'll eventually shoot it. Well it happened today. First shot of the day with my muzzleloader.

Yep, happens to everyone. Paint the shade sticks BRIGHT orange or some other color that really sticks out. I also duct taped the leading edge of the shades and then sharpied it to death with same color.
 
Where I went wrong was I usually have my horizontal post in my scope on the brass joints. Obviously I was under them. It tipped over and a friend went over to get the reading and he started laughing. We both laughed. Sucks that happened. But on the bright side we got a stand hung

contact with anything will change a bullet's flight path.
 
never hit my chronograph and been shooting over one for lot of years. Loaned it to a guy one time and he had to buy me a new one.
