Issues with Sig P320?

going on a while now. took a while to fix the p365 breakages too.

seems like sig rushed some stuff out and used their customers as beta testers.
 
Known issue.

Sig has major QC issues but continues to get big gov contracts. Someone is working the right dudes in procurement.
 
One of my younger shooting buddies is a Sig fanboy.
He is always asking why I only shoot and carry glocks.
I tell him when he has been around as long as I have you learn that the flashy pony at the horseshow cant pull a plow.
He has no idea what Im talking about. But one day he will.
 
It's definitely a thing. Sig has updated their manual to solve it.

Sent one back for a customer few weeks back. Turn around on recall was just a few days. Easy deal
 
I dont know if you guys keep up with this stuff but Sig Sauer fired their entire legal department one week ago today.
That means some really bad (read 'expensive') things are expected to be coming their way soon

No, I didn't know that. That's good to know. Where'd you get the news from? Gun magazines, online, etc? I want to do more research on these kind of topics.

I liked the P365 Macro when I held it in the store. It fit good in the hand But wasn't committed enough to buy it.
 
I own several sigs but in my previous job I was an armorer for some of their rifles. Sig is known to come out with a first Gen and allow the consumer to beta test, then fix some problems and come out with a second gen. Eventually, by their 4th or 5th Gen they will have all the bugs ironed out but at this point parts don't work for their first couple of gens. This leaves the consumer in a conundrum because if their gun breaks (one of the first few gens) quite often sig has quit making those parts to support the newer generations. I don't know why they do this but it seems to work for their business model and people (myself included) keep buying their guns.

Some of the early Gen 1 GLOCKS in Certain Security Retention Type Holsters when struct with a ASP type baton during training would go off in the Holster. This happened a multiple departments . Gaston sent out trigger mods to all departments that corrected that and to any civilians . I'm thinking civilians had to send them in or go thru a certified Glock Armour but they were everywhere at the GUNSHOWS.

By Gen 2 they corrected all.of that.
 
I've got a 365 xl I carry daily. Never had an issue. And one always in the pipe. I have a 320 with a leupold delta point Reddot that sits in the safe. I need to figure out what run it was. Been thinking about selling or trading it anyways.
 
I have an Sig 320 that I have ran in a few matches and have shot quite a few rounds through at the house. I have had no issues with it. I think I read somewhere that the issue was with the early production units as well.

Same. I get comments on carrying a Glock. Bottom line is, they work. I consider them the AK47 of the handgun world, bury it in the sand and dig it up a month later and it will still work.

Yep. I know a pretty famous firearms instructor that is a 1911 Fanatic and stresses 1911 to his students because of triggers blah blah blah. But when he had to go on a Bear Hunt in Alaska what did he carry? You guessed it . A Glock 45 ACP . Said he wanted something that was going to withstand harsh conditions and be totally reliable if his life depended on it.
 
The claims were firing when being dropped and discharges without pulling the trigger. They redesigned the gun and offered upgrades. Same thing Glock did when it happened to them.

We have no idea what's true and what's not. If everyone wanted the best handguns made in the best calibers, most of us wouldn't be able to afford our Smith & Wesson handguns and our .40S&W, 357mag or.45acp ammo.

Any mechanical device can fail, including any firearm. That's why most of us are Lazer focused on safety when handling firearms.

Shameless plug....I have a bunch of magazines for sale in the classifieds cheap for the P320 if someone wants them.
 
So is there an official recall?
And what is the fix to this problem?
Bought one for my son for graduation, I want to know it is safe for him to carry.

Here is a link link to what SIG had to say about it. There is no recall. There was an upgrade program, but I don't know if that's still available. If you purchased it recently, that shouldn't be an issue.

The warning in the manual to carry it without a round in the chamber would prevent most police departments from using the weapon, whether it had a problem or not.
