The Ky night coyote hunting has got me looking at different guns and I came across this. Now I can't use it at night but can in the day time. Is it worth it or can I do better for a coyote AR for around the same money? If so then which one?

I already have a 22-250 Rem that I use but heck it's a excuse to get another rifle.

No, your 22-250 will run rings around it.

However. I saw an AR with a LILJA barrel, check the threads, that was shooting lights out and the triggerman was rather an elderly gentleman. There is now nothing I want more than a AR with a Lilja barrel.
 
So what would be a good AR for coyotes?

I know the 22-250 is a better one but I was wanting something different.
 
There nothing wrong with that one except a lil heavy. You dont need a lilja barrel to group. Plenty of the factory barrels will outshoot most of the owners. I had a dpms sweet sixteen and a 24 inch panther bull special that would shoot a ragged hole at 100. My buddy has the exact rra mentioned but with a 18 that will do the same. (off steady rest of course)

One tho think about is how far you plan on shooting? My bro inlaw kills coyotes and deer all the time with his dpms sportical and it shoots about a 2-inch group at 100. Not a good group at all but still kills them all the same. Now it would be different if he trying to kill them at 500 or so he normally shoots up to a 100 or so while hunting.

hard to say a 22-250 is a better yote calling gun than a 223. i have and use both each yr. they each have their niches. if, god forbid, i could only have one yote gun it would be my ol cz 527 223. ar's make great platforms for calling guns, but they need to stay light. i bought a rem r15 byron south edition and really like it, but it only weights 6.7 pounds. the bull barrel guns are just too heavy for eastern calling and way to heavy for night calling, where everything happens closer and faster. that would be great for punching paper however

I've been using my 22-250 for years on the song dogs and have taken enough of them over that time. I was just thinking about trying something different.

I already have a Stag Model 2 but it's set up as a defense gun and I wanted to keep it that way. But still want another one for coyotes.
 
if I remember right you are left handed,,if I was you I would get another one just like the one you have in a flattop with no front sight and scope it with your choice of optics,,

with the 9 twist the 65 gr Sierra Game King shoots very well in my Carbine and will flatten a coyote,,out to 300 yards it will do anything a 22-250 will

i see a lot of newbie eastern pred callers buying western rigs meant for big open flat country. they don't work well when you have dogs coming hard at 40 from right to left. i think since the pred shows and magazines are geared to western calling, that influence is felt in the east. been there done that. 20 years ago i had a my first calling gun built. match 25-06 with 26" of pipe and heavy contour douglas barrel and a 2 pound trigger. lol, i was an idiot. killed a lot of cats and dogs with it, but could have doubled my number with a functional lightweight gun. bought a 6 pounds cz 527 a few years later and started stacking em up.
