Where I hunt there is a lot of areas that are so thick that they are pretty near impentrable. The good thing is that deer tend to move around in these areas all day long.

Might be too close to opener for comfort but the deer will start using them the night after you cut them.

The real trick is to STAY OFF THE TRAILS after you cut them. Use an alternate approach to your stand location.

Route the trails to/past advantageous stand locations. What you are trying to do is establish travel patterns that will give you a shot while routing most of the deer around your stand/approaches and keeping them from getting down wind of your stands.

The cool part is that they will continue to use established travel patterns for years even after it grows up if you cut it now.

Next year the regrowth will be hard to walk through and your trails will be knee high. Easy safe travel from a deer's perspective. Right by your stand.

I was being sarcastic with the question as most of you know. This pic comes from an area that funnels everything to a small heart shaped food plot. A lot of thought has been put into configuring it for deer movement coming from most directions. Hopefully it will be a plot that a mature buck being killed in would not suprise me. Fun stuff!

Also, like several mentioned cutting trails to where I want them to travel will be crucial. After the season I will cut trails but right now I want to observe some of their favorite entrances to the plot and cut trails according to terrain features after leaves fall.
