I have a new savage smokeless in the mail on the way.. I also have a tasco 8x32 world class scope laying around that is not in use.. do you think it would work ok on the rifle? thanks! Keith

I had to end up taking the regular 3x9 off my other ML and using it.. the target scope had a bigger diameter than my mounts would allow me to use.. it all worked out..popped a nice size doe at 100 yards this morning!
 
I like 2-7X32 or 3-9X40 variables on all my deer rifles, though most places I hunt are woods with UNDER 100 yard maximum distances. I leave it set at 2 or 3 and only adjusted it up to 6 one time, when it was barely shooting light. I wouldn't want an 8 on an ML.

I guess I buy mine at a different place than you do, I have a 30-06 and a 6mm both with 3x9 tascos on them. They have been on there for well over 15 years.. no telling how many shots between the 2.. they may break in half this evening but so far they havent missed a lick.. The zero on the 6mm (my main deer gun) hasnt changed in years.. I cant remember ever moving the adjustment but once and I cant remember how long ago that was..

no sir.. I have 2 of them and love them.. the other is on my 17hmr. I'm one of those hoarders..once I buy a gun or scope.. I pretty much marry it..lol..thanks for the offer...
 
ive had a tasco on my muzzleloader now for 21 years who ever told you that hog wash dont know squat.ive got a tasco on a 45/70 and a 375 and they hold up just fine i would trust those scopes with my life and i have when i was in canada bear hunting.saying a tasco wont hold up to a muzzleloader is very very silly!
 
and i shoot it a cpl times every year to check if scope has changed.ive only had to move it 2 times and that was due to change of powder and projectile.its used during the blackpowder and general rifle seasons.and i have enough sense not to buy a cheap 30 dollar scope and expect it to last for years and years.i paid over 150 bucks for my tascos.one of the best scope brands made.and i gotta give props to my swift scope i bought this year its a wide angle 3x9x40 and i really like it.i have it on my tradations e bolt 209 bolt action 50 cal set for 1 1/2 inches high at a 100.my 8 pointer was shot at 161 yds i held dead on and was only maybe 2 inches lower than where i put the crosshairs.
