Once the rut kicks in, that particular deer will become extremely dangerous to humans.

The fellow petting him is only kidding himself if he thinks that buck is going to stay on his property during the rut.

This story smells of someone in the area releasing a captive buck he could no longer handle and had become afraid to try any longer. Once that antler velvet hardens, the aggressive male hormones will kick in, and this becomes an aggressive buck that doesn't fear humans.

I got deer that get in my flower beds and up next to the porch. We treat them as a nuisance, not pets. This guy needs to quite being such a sissy. My backyard deer don't get fed either, even though I like looking at them.

I've tried kicking the ones that eat my roses. But they've learned exactly how far my leg can't reach.

Hosta and rose-eating scumbags...

I got a BB gun but they do the damage at night now. Wish they'd mow down my clover in my yard, but they prefer the nice flower beds.

I am waiting on the story this fall from that area that reads something like "Local man gored by deer"

We have a problem with them eating flowers of all kinds. Started spraying everything with Deer Stopper once a week and that took care of the problem. Lots of red pepper in that spray along with egg whites to make it stick to the leaves. It only took a couple times for them to find it taste bad.

For deer that show virtually no fear of humans, the deer in my area are shockingly nocturnal. Some of my neighbors don't even believe we have deer in the neighborhood because the deer never move during daylight. Yet about midnight, flip on a porch light and deer can be seen everywhere.

I would like for one of the TN Deer members that hunts in that area to kill it when it is on thier land, mount it, and turn the entire deer into burger meat and have a big chili cook out with it.

Not ours ,but the neighbor took one in, a Doe when it was real young.
It thinks it is a Dog.
I have seen my dog and her laying together licking each other, she will be 2.5 this year and she is much smaller then she should be .
Here is a pic.She just wears the collar during Deer season ,and has had many free passes.

x2 "Pet" deer are an accident waiting to happen. There have been fatalities from them in TN, but folks still can't grasp that those cute little fawns cans and will grow up into problems.

Back in the 80's during bow season, a deer was coming towards my buddy, he shot at it and hit a limb or something and it kept coming, he shot again and it kept coming.., finally shot his 3rd and last arrow.. and it kept coming.. when it got about 10 feet from him it had a blue collar on.. he never was much of a shot with a bow...LOL

There was one showed up here last summer that had an orange collar on. It came right up to me and i made sure to run it off proper. It was 1.5 buck. I saw a tame 2.5 buck lay into a man one time. Learned a good lesson.

I stirred up a real hornets nest when I wrote a column on the dangers of feeding deer. Got all the backyard bunny huggers tore up.

Now, a couple of them have called me, want me to come kill their nuisance deer.

The deer around my house are very nocturnal and very skittish. I've had as many as 25 in my 3/4 acre food plot. No need to kick them, just step on the back porch and they're gone. Sometimes if they just see you moving through the window they bolt.
