Yes, try Brownells to start. I've a feeling that it will be much like a car though, you could build a $25K car by purchasing $100K in parts.

I imagine you could find a video on Youtube, otherwise Brownells has numerous books and videos available on the 1911.

i kind of thought so but didnt wanna say something dumb. but for the most part everything should fit together in a standard gov't model 1911 if all the parts are for a gov't 1911 correct?
