Invasive bittersweet

I've been planning all summer to get after several different invasives on a property. When I had a forest plan done the Forester noted some heavy Vines in the planted Pines. Told me to check them in summer when they had leaves on. They are Oriental Bittersweet and some of the vines were two inches in diameter. I cut them with a chainsaw and painted them with some brush killer and I haven't been back to see if it killed them. However lately I've seen substantial outbreaks in three or maybe four places of these Vines. They climb trees almost like Kudzu. Anyone here had any experience eradicating Oriental bittersweet?

They are growing behind my house. I'm going to hit it hard soon. This stuff grows to exponentially by the day. Best of luck. I'd try garlon of the root base.

Bittersweet is very difficult to control. Get what you can this year and be ready for follow up treatments for years to come. Main thing is to stop seed production, so birds can't spread them.
