Internal Lock

Anybody have a Smith & Wesson Revolver with an internal lock? I have a model 60 .357mag that has the internal lock. This has always bothered me. I have heard many stories of the revolver locking itself while shooting. The recoil engaging the lock. I have never had this happen to me but I heard on a podcast that it is such a problem that when revolvers are sent back to S&W for work that they do not put the lock back in working order if they have been disabled. So I could stand it no longer, it was an easy fix and now I don't have to worry about a locked revolver anymore.

How do you disable it.

The flag that rotates up when you turn the key has a round stud on it that slides into a slot on the side of the hammer. Grind the round stud off with a dremel tool. The flag portion is left in place, looks just like it always did, you can even turn the key and raise the flag, looks like it is locked but the lock does not function anymore.

It's already fixed. Just like one with no lock now.
