My feelings exactlyI hope he is what we need but I'm going to set my expectations low with this coach so I'm not to disappoint if he fells. It gets harder every time we hire a new coach not to get excited but after his first year everyone says he needs a couple more years to get his recruits cycled through to see the results. Then on there third year everyone is excited and has high expectations just to get shot down! So I hope it's not the same old song this time around and he has success but I'm very optimistic about it. Now let's see what you got Coach!
now he is going to piss me offDanny White just said Heupel was the only person offered the job ??
Be interesting to see what he can do with Harrison bailey & kaidon salter over next few years
Wonder if the student body is going to burn mattresses in protest this time?Danny White just said Heupel was the only person offered the job ??
I sorta like the trolling job from Kiffin .I don't think its a bad hire (about like Auburn's new head coach Bryan Harrison) But I also don't think it has other SEC coaches shaking in their boots.

Yeah Kiffin will rule the west soonI sorta like the trolling job from Kiffin .
No way he was leaving Ole Miss . He's in a good spot there .
Lolany reports that TN is considering shutting down the football program if this hire fails as UAB did awhile back?
Honestly? I will not be surprised if that happens at the next level. He has all the tools in his tool box. Saban probably only has a few years left in him and won't be coaching forever. Someone has to take over. It very well could be him.Yeah Kiffin will rule the west soon

To much money in Tennessee football for that!any reports that TN is considering shutting down the football program if this hire fails as UAB did awhile back?
I'll be the first to admit this hire would not be my first choice, but as fans we all try to see the positives, yes he went 6-4 with the 4 losses being a grand total of 12 points, a bit different than double digit every other game like we have been putting up with. I think Vols will score points, I think the biggest thing for Heupel is a DC hirePaul Finebaum: 'Reality has struck' for Tennessee with Josh Heupel hire
When Tennessee brought in Central Florida's Danny White as the school's new athletic director last week, the hope was that the Volunteers would be on their way to making a splash hire at the position of head football coach following Jeremy Pruitt's dismissal on Jan. 18. In the end, White and Tennessee also went to Orlando to fill that role as well, convincing UCF head football coach Josh Heupel to join his former boss in Knoxville.
With Heupel fresh off a 6-4 finish in his third and final season leading the Knights, the hire may not quite of the caliber that some had envisioned. Ask SEC Network host Paul Finebaum, though, and a gap between expectations and reality is perhaps to blame for any Vols fans disappointed by the hire. Speaking on his radio show Wednesday, Finebaum described the hire as a reality check regarding the appeal of the Tennessee job amid rocky times on Rocky Top.
"Frankly, I didn't hear anything from Heupel today that would make you think Tennessee will break down any doors," Finebaum said Wednesday on his radio show. "It was like a cattle prod to the system. The expectations have been quieted dramatically. At the end of the search, the reality has struck: That this was as good as Tennessee could do."
Probably on Par.....

I thought I read somewhere that he had 14 players opt out for 2020, 10 of which were starters. If true, a 6-4 record is not so bad losing that many starters..I'll be the first to admit this hire would not be my first choice, but as fans we all try to see the positives, yes he went 6-4 with the 4 losses being a grand total of 12 points, a bit different than double digit every other game like we have been putting up with.
