Velvet may not fall of this one. I suspect a testicle injury where he maintains his velvet throughout the season

My Blacktail last year was a cactus buck. Velvet never fell completely off. He was a mature buck though. Was within five pounds of the 4x4 Muley I took a few months earlier.

Worth noting if any kills their first cactus buck... I had the head of mine beetle cleaned. They completely stripped the antlers of ALL remnants of velvet. Just a heads up in case you take a really cool one and want a mount.
