Talk about insult to injury..As most of you know Im having a bad season for deer sightings..Anyway, my wife texted me at 10am to remind me she had to leave for work at 11.So I had to get down and stop hunting at 10:30am,well when I was lowering my bow down,there was a deer about 10-15 yds inside the woodline that I didn't see that started blowing and ran off.I never saw the deer,but it was close.I was hunting half acre grown up field,and I was in the center of the field 25 ft up a oak tree that stand in the middle of the field,along with 5 other oaks..And you can't really see into the woods at all,its extreamly thick.Thats why I didn't see the deer.Oh well,atleast I got close to seeing one...LOL
 
Well at least you seen one...lol. man I really don't see how you can hunt that much it bow season. I just can't do it. I would get burned out before muzzy season. But hang in there, they'll come around.

That exact same thing happened to me on an antlerless quota hunt a few years back. I lowered the crossbow to the ground, turned around, and a doe hopped out from behind a tree. Funny thing was, she didn't seem especially startled, so I started inching the bow back up with the rope in my fingers.

I got the bow about halfway up the tree, and my hands started slipping, shaking the bow around! The deer had enough of that and ran off. That was the only deer I saw for the entire hunt that was anywhere close to being in range, and I blew it because I left 10 minutes too early...
