My son and I went to a local store the other day.
He wants / needs a new coat for duck hunting.
He walked by this one and said, hey, this looks nice.

Then he looked at the price and said, this can't be right.
So he looks at the tag on the one behind it and said, yep that's right.
Wow is all I can say.
Better have a hooker hidden inside it is all I can say.

Check out Macks in Atwood. I got a Drake coat(shell) in the bottomland pattern camo in there last year for under 300, and then ordered the liner online for another 100. Warmest coat I've ever had between the 2, and well worth what I have in it.

It's a joke nowadays, I was at sportsman the other day and saw a "glorified rain poncho" on the CLEARANCE rack and looked at the price and it was $550. I said holy moly that's a deal since it's on the clearance rack and the employee was like "yea it's originally $650 so it won't last long". Apparently he doesn't get sarcasm cause I said "well it'll last a little longer cause I may have been born at night but it wasnt last night" and walked off lol

Wow I've never even heard of that company lol. Not that it means anything but still.

Good lord. I had to look it up lol. It's made by Banded which now makes sense to me (stupid price but makes sense from them)

The waterfowl clothing companies are trying to follow Sitka I guess. Thinking they can all do the $1000 waders and jackets. Drake and Frogg Toggs are halfway reasonable for now. Banded looks to be following Sitka.

Same thing I saw in golf clubs once PXG came out. Now most other club mfrs. are at stupid prices. Just like trucks ($75-100k), boats ($50-$100k) etc. and the list goes on.

In all seriousness, im not a duck hunter but deal with the big outfits in my business. Best i can tell, duck hunting is the most expensive hobby in the world- if you want to do it right

It is if you try to do everything solo. We try to do it as a group and spread the costs out a little. Still expensive, but not nearly as bad as it could be.

Reminds me of the time we were goose hunting on Chickamauga reservoir. Had a man and woman stop and were casting lures right in the edge of our decoys. Heard the lady say boy they sure have spent a lot of money just to kill a goose while fishing from a 50,000 dollar boat using no telling the cost of the fishing outfits and lures ( just to catch a fish. )

These big name brands like Banded, Drake, Sitka are just a name that certain hunters need to have for a status symbol. I can promise you that through the years, I have found stuff just as good for no where near the price. I really dont know why people would even want Banded stuff, most of it is complete junk!

Sitka is actually pretty damn good stuff.
