Check out the swelling in this turkeys throat. He was an old wise bird that was pretty hard to kill. He would stop short every time he was set up on and wouldn't come the last 20 yards .
My son stopped just short of a food plot one afternoon and called softly and he hammered.

He eased up where he could see into the plot and they basically ran into each other .
Big bird w nice spurs. He won the first 3 hunts but his luck ran out on day 4.

It had a horrible smell from infection my son though. Looks like a tumor. He showed no signs of being sick.
We didnt eat him as the landowner wanted to have him for taxidermy.

never seen one swell in a perfect golf ball size circle area after being shot . It definitely had infection. He said he stuck his finger in and it was so rancid it would make you wanna throw up.
