has anyone ever tried this stuff? i have heard some good things about it and the reviews are decent. i have 2-3 small spots i would like to plant something in this year, probably in the spring and then again for the fall. this stuff seems to fit the bill as it doesnt require very much sunlight, it says 3-4 hours of direct or filtered sunlight. the places i want to plant are little clearings in the woods..well ALMOST clearings as there are a couple large trees and then saplings underneath. if we get rid of the saplings there should be a nice little clearing with decent sunlight and we could rake away the leaves and so forth...ahh anyway just brainstorming for the next season and tryin to make plans. what else is there to do right now right? if anyone has used this stuff i would love to hear their take on it..
 
thanks..when you guys planted did you just let the seed sit on top of the soil or did you lightly cover it?

and another thing...how well did it do after frost?
 
I have used it with good result in old logging roads. I simply rake the leaves off and sowed the seed an hour before I knew we were goign to have rain. That way the seed would "sink in" the soil without me having to cover it. If you dont plant right before a rain you run the risk of birds eating your seed. My stayed nice and green through the frosts.
 
does anyone know what will happen, if anything, to the seed if you were to apply some turpintine to the seed, i know for a fact that turpintine does not hurt corn seed and all the critters will leave it along

hey kmac i will take some pics of ours in the next two weeks and you can see what it looks like! after a frost they tore it up plain and simple. you need to do a soil check if you can, we got ours back today and it was lower than we thought!it was due to the bad weather.
